According to the ITIA, Casa admitted to committing seven breaches of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP), which include attempting to commit a corruption offense, manipulating match scores for betting reasons, and facilitating betting activities.
The TACP mandates that “No Covered Person shall directly or indirectly, facilitate, encourage and/or promote Tennis Betting (‘Facilitation’)."
With the ban now active, Casa is prohibited from officiating or attending any tennis event authorized by members of the ITIA until September 27, 2031.
In addition to the suspension, Casa received an $8,000 fine and a suspended penalty of $17,001 for the violations.
ITIA Cracks Down on Betting Breaches
The latest penalties put Casa on the growing list of officials that ITIA has sanctioned since the year began.
Earlier this month, former professional tennis player and Peru’s Davis Cup captain Luis Horna was fined for endorsing a tennis operator and promoting tennis betting. He was also issued a six-month suspended ban. The ITIA noted that his penalties were not too severe because he cooperated fully with the investigation and terminated the deal with the operator.

In February, Miami Open tournament director and former top 10 player James Blake was fined $56,250 for breaching tennis rules. According to the ITIA, the violation was unintentional, and Blake cooperated fully with the investigation without contesting the charge.
In January, the ITIA handed its most severe penalty so far this year to Bulgarian tennis official Stefan Milanov for multiple corruption and betting breaches. His charges ranged from corruption and attempting to influence a tennis match to doctoring the scoring of a tennis game and not cooperating with the ITIA investigation.
He received a $75,000 fine and a 16-year suspension from the game. Milanov was earlier suspended for betting breaches in 2022 and served a six-month sentence. His latest suspension will run until December 2039.
