Betsson Group to Exit Colorado
Betsson Group has decided to withdraw from the Colorado betting market.
Betsson’s Denver B2B office opened after it debuted its sportsbook in Colorado in March 2022.
The iGaming and sportsbook operator has announced its decision to halt all its business operations in Colorado by the end of the month.
According to a company spokesperson, Betsson will discontinue its B2C services in the Centennial State by September's end and will not offer such services in the US in the foreseeable future. He further stated that Betsson's initial venture in Colorado was primarily to showcase its sportsbook capabilities to B2B clients and gain hands-on experience in the US online sports betting market, which has been accomplished.
Betsson debuted its sportsbook in Colorado in March 2022 under its Betsafe brand after attaining GLI 33 certification. The operator also opened an office in Denver to bolster its B2B efforts.
While planning to cease operations in Colorado, Betsson has been accelerating its growth in Europe and Latin America. Recently, it launched its products in Colombia through a partnership with Hacksaw Gaming.
The two brands have been partnering since 2021 and have introduced their joint offerings to players across multiple markets, including Croatia, Greece, Italy, Denmark and Estonia.
In April, the operator also became an Infotainment Partner of Torino FC, a top-flight Italian football team. With the deal, Betsson aims to increase its customer base by engaging with fans of the Serie A side.

Last month, Betsson also acquired Sporting Solutions from FDJ Group to boost its trading, pricing, and sports betting risk management services. The purchases mark the company's second major B2B acquisition this year after it completed a takeover deal of Holland Power Gaming and its B2C operations for €27.5 million in February.
Betsson's recent B2B acquisitions, partnerships and latest B2C exit from the Colorado market underscore the company's reinforced commitment to becoming a leading B2B provider in the global online gaming industry.
