The ceremony saw the return of the esteemed veteran host Trudy Kerr, alongside the award-winning game developer John Romero. Together, they presented 28 awards across various categories, including Game Performance, Streamers, Game Creation, Best Game Release and more. This year’s ceremony underscored the industry's innovation and excellence, drawing attention to both regional and global brands.
Celebrating Excellence and Innovation in iGaming
Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, encapsulated the evening's spirit, stating, “The Game Developer Awards offers a pivotal opportunity to honor the remarkable accomplishments of the industry, celebrating both regional and global brands as well as individual talent. This year’s shortlist was by far the most competitive we have seen, and I would like to congratulate all our esteemed winners.”
Play’n GO had a particularly noteworthy evening, securing the prestigious SlotCatalog’s Game Studio of the Year (Large) award for the second consecutive year. Additionally, they won the Game Music/Soundtrack accolade for their title Hugo Legacy. Playtech also shone brightly, taking home the Game Licensed Content award for Breaking Bad: Cash Collect & Link.
The game creation categories highlighted other significant achievements. Hacksaw Gaming won Game Feature of the Year for Chaos Crew 2, Relax Gaming received the Game Design & Art Direction award for Money Train 4, and GAMOMAT was honored with the Game Retro-Style award for Fancy Fruits Deluxe. Pragmatic Play was a standout, winning both the Game Mechanic of the Year award for their MultiHold mechanic and the Slot Legacy Title for Gates of Olympus.
GAMOMAT returned to the stage to receive the Best Game Development Company Central Europe award, while Playson was recognized as the Best Game Studio in Development Countries. Reel Kingdom, Fortune Factory Studios, and IGT also received accolades for their impressive contributions.
Individual achievements were celebrated in the Game People categories, with Andrei Filipovich of Aviatrix winning Game Designer of the Year, Julia Aliakseyeva from BGaming named Product Manager of the Year, and Jean-Pierre Larouche from PearFiction Studios receiving the Game Composer of the Year award. EveryMatrix and The Mill Adventure also took home significant awards, while Lambda Gaming’s 8Bit Football Twinko was named Best Game Release.
The evening introduced two new awards: the FTN Game of the Year, sponsored by BetConstruct and awarded to Rubyplay for Mad Hit Olympic First, and the CasinoBeats Annual Community Recognition Award, presented to SoftConstruct for their work on BFTH Arena.
CasinoDaddy triumphed as Streamer of the Year, while The Slot Beasts and Haddzy received the Responsible Streamer of the Year and Next-Gen Streamer of the Year awards, respectively. In Game Performance categories, PowderKeg Studios won the Slot Debut award for Munition Mines, Stormcraft Studios won Slot to Watch for Immortal Romance 2, and Light & Wonder and Netflix took home Slot Collaboration of the Year for Squid Game. ELK Studios’ Pirots 2 was named Slot of the Year.

Concluding the CasinoBeats Summit, which brought together 4,500 industry professionals at the InterContinental Hotel in Malta, the Game Developer Awards ceremony was a fitting celebration of the iGaming industry's vibrant community and groundbreaking achievements.
