Entain Confirms Stella David as Permanent CEO
Entain has confirmed the appointment of Stella David as its new permanent chief executive, effective immediately.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:According to a statement from the company, David is assuming the role following Gavin Isaacs’ departure in February. She had been serving as interim CEO since Isaacs stepped down.
It was her second stint as interim CEO, having previously filled the position temporarily after Jette Nygaard-Andersen left the company in late 2023. However, this is the first time David will assume the post on a permanent basis.
An Impressive History with Entain
David also served as Entain’s chairman, taking on that responsibility in April 2024. She stepped down from that position earlier this year when she became interim CEO. Her history with Entain dates back to March 2021 when she joined as a non-executive director.

Welcomed By the Board and Shareholders
Pierre Bouchut, who had been acting as interim chairman while David was interim CEO, has praised her appointment and described David as being “highly regarded” among Entain’s shareholders.
In a statement, he said that the board is “delighted” with the appointment and praised David as “an accomplished and commercial business leader with a long track record of success across multiple industries.”
Bouchut went on to say that David has been vital to Entain’s work of shaping, implementing, and executing its strategy to increase value for shareholders.
Beyond her work with Entain, David currently serves as chair of Norwegian Cruise Lines, where she has been a non-executive director since January.
Her extensive career includes time as CEO of WM Grant & Sons, as well as senior leadership roles at Bacardi, where she was both senior vice president and chief marketing officer and regional president. She continues to serve as a non-executive director at Bacardi.
David has also held non-executive directorships at Nationwide Building Society, New Look Retail Group, HomeServe UK, and Domino’s, and she spent a year as chair of Vue International.
David’s appointment coincides with Entain’s release of its first-quarter trading update, which reported a 9% rise in net gaming revenue. The company credited strong online activity and growth from its BetMGM joint venture for the positive results.
