MDC Reports 41% of Players Find Excessive Screen Use Is Stressful
Minimum Deposit Casinos (MDC), the iGaming brand, has just released the results of a survey it undertook to find the effects on players’ health with excessive screen time during gaming sessions.
The survey was conducted over a period of a month and covered screen use across all types of digital platforms. It was conducted in four countries, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
MDC reports that hundreds of players took part in the survey, and the company found there was a link between prolonged screen time during a gambling session and the effect on the players feeling of well-being.
According to MDC, the key finding of the report was that 41% of gamblers experienced feelings of stress and anxiety when their screentime was prolonged.
MDC also wanted to know how excessive screen time affected players health relating to a range of symptoms, including stress, anxiety, headaches, depression, neck and back pain, sleep disorders, and insomnia.
Other findings in the survey were that gamblers did report greater signs of ill health relating to depression, sleep disorders, and insomnia among the section of participants who spent the longest amount of time in front of a screen during a single gambling period.
MDC has stated it aims to promote responsible gambling, and the survey could help to formulate an intervention policy for players during long gaming sessions.
