Nickmercs Contractually Obliged to Broadcast Gambling Content on Kick
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff, best known as a Call of Duty streamer, is set to enter the world of gambling streaming on the platform Kick.
Kolcheff, who is a co-owner of Faze Clan, reportedly signed a non-exclusive deal with Kick that is worth eight figures, and during his debut appearance on the platform, he confirmed that as part of his contract, there will be gambling streams.
Many were surprised by Kolcheff’s foray into gambling; however, Kick insists upon gambling streams from its high-profile providers, which is no surprise considering that Stake.com, a leading gambling platform, is a major backer of the platform.
Offshore Gambling Streams
Speaking about gambling content, Kolcheff explained that he would not be doing many gambling streams and that those he does do will be from a location outside the US in order to avoid legal problems.
Gambling content from live streamers has long been a source of controversy. Twitch banned all gambling content due to concerns regarding underage viewers. However, this has not deterred Kick from pressing ahead and the site seems to revel in its controversial image.
Gradual Introduction of Viewer Protections
Clearly Kolcheff and Kick are aware of the potential issues surrounding gambling streams, and to that end, he has promised to run giveaways using the gambling funds from Kick. As such, it is likely that the streams will attract a large viewership.

At the same time, Kick has made some effort to address concerns regarding gambling content. In July, co-founder Ed Craven revealed measures to address view botting, such as extra view count protection. Furthermore, the platform introduced a toggle switch, allowing users to turn off exposure to gambling streams.
