Smartplay Receives Second Gaming Vendor License in UAE
Smartplay International has been awarded a general-related gaming vendor license in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The license enables Smartplay to provide lottery and gaming equipment to approved operators in the UAE.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:The license, issued by UAE's gaming regulator, the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), enables the New Jersey-based company to provide lottery and gaming equipment to approved operators in the jurisdiction.
Smartplay International's number drawing systems are used by lottery and gaming operators in 127 countries, including Powerball in the US and the UK National Lottery.

In its official statement regarding the milestone, Smartplay also congratulated The Game, a subsidiary of Momentum, on becoming the first lottery to be licensed in the UAE. The achievement paves the way for The Game to introduce an array of lottery games to the region.

Smartplay Joins Aristocrat as Licensed Vendors
Smartplay's license approval follows closely on the heels of Aristocrat's similar vendor license award in the UAE.
On Monday (28 October), Aristocrat became the first supplier to receive a UAE vendor license from the GCGRA. The approval allows the provider to offer land-based gaming solutions and online casino content to UAE-licensed operators.
So far, Wynn Resorts is the only international gaming operator to receive licensure in the UAE's newly regulated market. The company received the first UAE gaming license for its Al Marjan Island Resort in Ras Al Khaimah earlier this month.
Although MGM Resorts has also applied for a license in the region, it has yet to receive approval or confirmation from the GCGRA.
