Super Bowl LVIII Predicted to Smash Wagering Records
Super Bowl LVIII will witness the largest number of bets valued at over 23 billion dollars, according to the American Gaming Association. The AGA has stated that Super Bowl LVIII will surpass previous records for the Big Game by a considerable margin. The trade body estimated that about 68 million adults in America will bet on the event.
The amount of Super Bowl bets in 2023 is also projected to be 35% higher than in 2022. Predictions suggest that Super Bowl LVIII will attract a staggering $23.1 billion in bets, a remarkable increase of $16 billion compared to last year's Big Game.
As the Super Bowl takes center stage in Las Vegas, anticipations are high that Nevada will see record-breaking numbers that will exceed any previous statistics. Nevada is one of the 38 states that have legalized sports betting in the US since the 2018 Supreme Court ruling that granted states the authority to legalize sports wagering.
Strict Super Bowl Gambling Policy
Ahead of Sunday’s game in Las Vegas, Commissioner of the NFL, Roger Goodell has established guidelines for players and league personnel regarding gambling in the “sin city.”
During Super Bowl week, all league and team personnel are prohibited from engaging in any gambling activities or visiting casinos. The NFL also sent reminders about the league's gambling regulations to all involved parties traveling to Las Vegas before the week commenced.
Goodell emphasized the importance of maintaining the "integrity of the game" at the highest level.
