25th Edition of the Gaming & Technology Expo Opens in Cartagena
The 25th edition of the Gaming & Technology (GAT) Expo in Cartagena, Colombia, began today, Tuesday, April 9.
Things kicked off at 9 am with opening words from the president of Coljuegos, Colombia’s gaming regulator, as well as the associations Asojuegos, Cornazar, Fecoljuegos and Fedelco, and an opening speech from José Aníbal Aguirre, the founder of the event.

A Gathering of LatAm Industry Leaders
The exposition is being attended by industry leaders from across Latin America including from Paraguay, Argentina, Mexico, Peru, and more. Attendees can hear from speakers from the Dominican Republic, Panama and Peru, while the first day will feature updates and panel discussion on artificial intelligence and eSports.
GAT Expo 2024 is being run by a team of 160 people across a number of roles relating to technology, administration, marketing, logistics, and so on. Attendees will have been greeted at the airport and then whisked away to the exposition itself.
Delegates from 37 countries arrived yesterday and received their credentials to enter the event, held at the Cartagena Las Americas Convention Center.

A Colombian Party to Celebrate
After the conclusion of the day's conference program, attendees will have the opportunity to partake in a vibrant Colombian celebration. This lively event will showcase traditional elements such as bagpipers, drummers, and dancers, all accompanied by immersive sound and lighting to highlight the essence of Cumbia, the beloved folk dance originating from Cartagena.
Additionally, the festivities will include captivating performances such as salsa cabaret, music by Congo Grande de Colombia, appearances by artists from the Carnival of Barranquilla, vibrant champeta rhythms, and a myriad of other cultural delights, promising an unforgettable experience for all.
