All Macau Casino Operators Confirm Annual Employee Bonuses
All six casino operators in Macau have confirmed they will provide annual bonuses to most employees this year, reflecting a successful 2024 for the gaming industry in the region. This move continues a longstanding tradition of rewarding staff for their contributions as Macau's casinos experience steady growth and business recovery.
SJM Resorts Ltd, the Macau unit of SJM Holdings Ltd, announced a special discretionary bonus equivalent to one month's salary for its employees. According to internal communications, this payment will be issued on January 20, 2025, as a gesture of gratitude for staff efforts that contributed to the company's steady business progress in 2024. The announcement highlighted the role of employees in driving success at key properties like Lisboa, Grand Lisboa, and Grand Lisboa Palace in Macau.

The company stated this bonus recognizes staff contributions throughout the year. In addition to the bonus, Sands China will implement salary increases starting March 1, 2025, benefiting 99% of its 27,000 team members.
Eligible non-management employees will receive a bonus equal to one month's salary, while management staff bonuses will be determined based on individual performance and company results. Employees earning up to MOP16,000 per month will see salary increases of MOP600, translating to a rise of 3.8 to 5%.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd has also announced a bonus for staff in Macau and Hong Kong. The payment, equal to one month’s salary, will be made to eligible non-management personnel before the Chinese New Year on January 29, 2025.
The company's leadership expressed appreciation for employees' dedication and noted that their contributions have supported the firm's continued prominence in the entertainment and hospitality sectors. Melco operates prominent properties in Macau, including City of Dreams, Studio City, and Altira Macau.
