Allwyn Gains Responsible Gaming Certification from WLA and EL
Allwyn UK, the current operator of the UK National Lottery, has announced it has gained two of the gaming industry's highest Responsible Gaming certifications. It has gained accreditation from the European Lotteries (EL) Responsible Gaming Certification and Level 4 of the World Lottery Association’s (WLA) Responsible Gaming Framework.

Allwyn took over the operation of the National Lottery in February 2024 and has enjoyed record revenue since taking over. The business has tried to improve all aspects of the operation of the UK National Lottery and this includes its Responsible Gambling initiatives.
These awards signal the commitment from Allwyn to have the most stringent responsible gaming framework and create a safe environment for all its customers. Senior leadership at the lottery operator state they believe this is an ongoing process and they are always trying to improve the responsible gaming procedures and services they provide to customers.

Allwyn Committed to Implementing Responsible Gaming Measures
Allwyn boasts it provides robust support for its users and has a suite of responsible gambling services. It monitors more than 11 million players in the UK and has active measures and procedures in place to identify customers who may be vulnerable to risk from excessive gambling.
The operator provides a comprehensive range of tools for players that promote responsible gaming and reduce gambling-related harms. Last year Allwyn became one of the first operators to place a limit on the amount of scratchcards that can be bought in a single transaction to 10 per player.
Additionally, it has made it easier for stores and retail outlets that sell lottery products to access help and support for customers who may require assistance with responsible gambling platforms.
Just over a year on from taking over as The National Lottery operator, we’re delighted to announce that we’ve achieved these important EL and WLA Responsible Gaming Certifications. National Lottery games are specially designed to be safe and secure, ensuring they don’t appeal to underage or vulnerable players. However, with over 30 million people routinely playing National Lottery games – raising over £30 million a week for Good Causes in the process – it’s crucial that we continue to do everything we can to prevent underage and excessive play.
