The Dutch Lottery, Nederlandse Loterij has announced that Arjan Blok has recently taken up his new role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the national lottery operator in the Netherlands.
Arjan Blok takes over as CEO of Nederlandse Loterij.
The move was first announced at the beginning of November last year when it was outlined that Niels Onkenhout would be standing down in 2024 as CEO, with Blok stepping up to CEO from his latest position in the business where he has held the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for several years.
The leadership team at the lottery praised outgoing CEO, Niels Onkenhout and recognized his achievements during his eight-year tenure including driving the merger of Lotto and Dutch State Lottery.
Under the new appointment, Blok has been tasked with continuing to build on the company’s recent success, which he hopes to achieve through growth and innovation initiatives.
We started our adventure at Nederlandse Loterij almost at the same time in 2016. Together with all employees, we made the organization the largest and most responsible gambling provider in the Netherlands. As of today, after having been CFO for eight years, I am taking over from Niels Onkenhout as CEO of Nederlandse Loterij. I am proud of where we are now and look forward to the promising future.
