BetMGM Report Finds Poker Is the Most Searched Casino Game
A report from BetMGM’s Senior Manager of Poker Marketing that looked at Google Trend data from January 1 to October 9, 2024, has revealed the most searched-for casino game in the US, poker.

However, nationwide slot machines still managed to secure the second spot as the most popular game in the country, followed by blackjack, roulette, and bingo.
Poker is a part of US culture. From watching on TV to playing in-home games, many people learn the game socially and, as the data shows, are searching for poker online. With the expansion of regulated online poker, BetMGM continues to offer another avenue to enjoy their favorite game.
Report Reveals Changing Customer Behavior
The data offers insights into evolving consumer behavior and may explain why competitors such as DraftKings have introduced their own player-versus-player poker platforms. While traditional poker outside of casinos has struggled to generate widespread interest, online casino poker appears to be thriving.
The report also revealed some interesting trends. For instance, in the District of Columbia, bingo was the most searched-for game, while Nevada saw high interest in poker, roulette, and blackjack.

Land Casinos Encourage Online Play
Further analysis shows that states such as Mississippi, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Alabama, and Louisiana recorded significant searches for slot games. BetMGM’s assessment suggested that the presence of brick-and-mortar casinos in these areas has encouraged online slot searches.
However, this doesn’t fully account for why other states, which also host many land-based casinos, showed a preference for poker, according to Google Trend data from the period examined.
Earlier this month, BetMGM said that it is seeing substantial gains from its sports betting and iGaming operations. The company offers its poker services in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia.
