BetMGM Set to Start Accepting Mobile Sports Bets in New York
Online sportsbook, BetMGM has reportedly been approved by the New York Gaming Commission to offer mobile sports betting in the jurisdiction.
Starting today, Monday 17 January 2022, BetMGM will join Caesars Sportsbook, FanDuel, DraftKings and Rush Street Interactive, who had begun operating in New York since last weekend.
Although the regulator has yet to announce or confirm the award publicly, BetMGM thanked the New York Gaming Commission for progressing its license application in its official press release.
BetMGM is a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain. As such, the sports betting platform integrates the MGM Resorts M life Rewards program.
This will give New York’s BetMGM customers the chance to redeem their online gameplay for rewards at MGM Resorts properties, including Empire City Casino in Yonkers and Borgata in New Jersey.
BetMGM is also an official sports betting partner of Madison Square Garden Arena. One of the perks of the deal is that the sportsbook will reward its customers with exclusive experiences involving the New York Knicks NBA and New York Rangers NHL team.
With today’s monumental news, we’ll now be able to fully activate our relationships with MGM Resorts’ Empire City Casino and Madison Square Garden. We look forward to offering customers in New York unique experiences that they can’t access on any other platform. A huge thank you to the New York Gaming Commission as well as to our entire BetMGM team who have worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition.
Online sports gambling launched in New York last Monday with four operators cleared by the New York Gaming Commission to accept mobile bets in the state.
Although there were recommendations from nine betting operators, the regulator said that the other five operators will get approval after “satisfying statutory and regulatory requirements necessary to launch.”
