Big Loss for William Hill as Patrick Jonker Resigns
William Hill have confirmed that their international managing director, Patrick Jonker, has made the decision to leave the company.
Even though Jonker’s decision has been described as a mutual agreement, it comes at a critical time for William Hill as the European units are in the process of being merged with 888 Holdings as part of the £2.2billion deal with Caesars Entertainment.
Jonker had this to say about his departure, “I feel comfortable stepping aside for new management to prepare for the next chapter for William Hill International.”
The William Hill Group COO Stephen Parry has agreed to step into the role which Jonker has vacated but only for the short term.
Patrick Jonker joined William Hill in 2019 and the former MD of the Betsson Group and is widely credited with leading William Hill out of the dismal period when they reported losses of millions of pounds.
He was also a key stakeholder in William Hills’ acquisition of Mr Green in 2019.
I would like to thank Patrick for his leadership of the William Hill International team over the last two and a half years and wish him the best of luck in his next challenge. This transaction is a testament to the progress William Hill has made over the last two years, our unrelenting focus on customer, team and execution and, most importantly, the dedication and commitment of William Hill colleagues.
