Boyd Gaming Breaks Ground on Cadence Crossing Casino
Construction has officially begun on the Boyd Gaming-owned Cadence Crossing Casino in Henderson, Nevada.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:This exciting new development marks a significant step forward for the company and the local community. The upcoming casino will be built on the site currently occupied by Joker’s Wild Casino, which will be replaced by a modern entertainment venue expected to open in 2026.
To celebrate the project's beginning, Boyd Gaming executives and City of Henderson officials visited the site and held a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday. The attendees included the following:
● Marianne Johnson, Executive Chairman of Boyd Gaming
● Keith Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boyd
● Ted Bogich, Boyd’s Chief Operating Officer
● Steve Schutte, Boyd’s Executive Vice President of Operations
● Mayor Michelle Romero of the City of Henderson
Boyd’s Executive Vice President of Operations, Steve Schutte, had the following to say on the new casino:
As we celebrate Boyd’s 50th year in business, we are excited to begin development of our newest entertainment destination in the Las Vegas Valley. Cadence Crossing will allow us to better serve the rapidly-growing master-planned community of Cadence – and to further expand our presence in Henderson as the Cadence community continues to grow in the years ahead.

What to Expect from Cadence Crossing Casino
The new casino in Henderson is poised to become a major entertainment destination, featuring 450 state-of-the-art slot machines and a variety of food and beverage venues to cater to every taste. The facility will span approximately 50,000 square feet, with around 10,000 square feet dedicated to gaming.
This marks Boyd Gaming’s first ground-up development in over 20 years, signaling a significant expansion for the company. Named Cadence Crossing Casino, the venue is expected to open in 2026 and is anticipated to boost the local economy. While the exact number of new jobs hasn’t been confirmed, employment opportunities are expected.
