Churchill Downs Appoints Ben Murr as President of TwinSpires

Leading casino operator Churchill Downs Incorporated has appointed Ben Murr as its President of TwinSpires and Online Gaming.

Murr is an experienced personality in the online gaming industry. Of his 24 years of leadership experience in the field, he spent 14 years working with CDI in different roles like President of United Tote, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and, most recently, as interim President of TwinSpires and Online Gaming.

Before joining CDI, Murr worked in Information technology leadership roles at General Electric. He is a graduate of Bellarmine University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Business Administration.

As new President of TwinSpires and Online Gaming, Ben Murr will be responsible for the overall strategy and operations of these businesses and the growth of the online division of the casino company.

During his tenure with CDI, Ben has been an important leader in the growth across our operations. He has been a key player throughout the extensive changes in our Company over the last 14 years and will continue to move our TwinSpires and Online businesses forward.

Murr’s promotion is effective immediately though he will still retain his Senior Vice President role until the Company finds a suitable individual for the Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer role.
