Entain’s 2023 Gender Pay Gap Report Reveals Substantial Differences

Entain has published its Gender Pay Gap Report for 2023 examining the differences in salaries between its male and female employees, and although there was a relatively small difference in hourly pay, there were still significant differences in bonus pay.
The report found that there was a median hourly gender pay gap of 4%, which is an improvement on the 5.3% of 2021 but larger than the 3.2% gap found in 2022. However, the mean hourly gender pay gap was 15.9%, significantly smaller than in 2022 and 2021.

Large Differences Remain in Bonus Sizes
There was an increase in the median bonus gender pay gap from 38.7% in 2022 to 44.4% in 2023 but it was still lower than 2021’s 59.6%. However, the mean bonus gender pay gap fell from 66.1% in 2022 to 64.5% in 2023, but this was slightly up from 63.4% in 2021.
Entain also found that 65.3% of its male employees received a bonus compared to 60.3% of its female employees.
There was a surprisingly large variation in the number of female employees at Entain in each quarter. The figure stood at 53.5% and 57.4% in Q1 and Q2, respectively, but then fell to 49.9% in Q3 and then 37% in Q4.
New Initiatives to Improve Equality
Entain is launching a number of initiatives to improve equality within the company including Women@Entain, a Menopause Hub, and a Returnship program in collaboration with McLaren.
Furthermore, the company has a Workplace of Tomorrow mental health program that is working to support female employees and work towards a general culture of trust and psychological safety. In addition, Entain is working with Global Gaming Women and launched a Women@Entain mentoring program.
We are proud to attract and support talented women in an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated. However, we know that females are still underrepresented in some senior roles at Entain.
