Fairmount Park Casino & Racing Soft Opens in Illinois
On Friday, April 18, Accel Entertainment’s first Illinois casino venture, Fairmount Park Casino & Racing, began its soft opening phase, offering patrons a preview of its casino games, racing, and entertainment experiences.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Located at 9301 Collinsville Rd, the 12,000 sq. ft. gaming venue features the latest slots and electronic table games. The property also offers new concessions, FanDuel Sportsbook, and improved racing facilities.
Fairmount Park has also teamed up with Fifty/50 Hospitality Group to expand its food and beverage options. The partnership will bring three new concessions, a full-service restaurant, and a bar to the property in June.
The deal with Fifty/50 Group will also enable Fairmount Park to host various events, from corporate gatherings to casual parties, as it builds its reputation and expands.
Accel became the owner of Fairmont Park when it acquired Fairmont Holdings for $35 million in June 2024. At the time, the location only featured a racetrack and a sportsbook but had permission for an on-site casino.
Accel announced that it would leverage the permit by first developing a temporary casino site, with future plans for a permanent venue. Earlier this month, the company unveiled a gaming area at the establishment that will house 271 state-of-the-art slot machines, including 40 premium titles.
I would like to thank the Illinois Racing Board, the Illinois Gaming Board, the City of Collinsville, and our local elected officials for their guidance and partnership throughout our development of this historic property. We would not have been able to complete this casino and park improvements in less than 5 months without their support.

As the racing season kicks off on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, Fairmount will open its gates at 9 a.m., and the first race will begin at 1:30 p.m. The racing action will be preceded by a skydiving performance.
