The betting operator's entry into the Garden State signifies the final step in acquiring PointsBet's US operations, which commenced in 2023.

Last year, Fanatics signed an agreement to acquire PointsBet's US operations for $225 million. The deal, which facilitated Fanatics' launch in several US states, was finalized last month.

Fanatics has now replaced PointBet in all 20 states where the latter was previously operational. These include Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia. According to the operator, these states represent 95% of the US online sports betting sector.

With its launch in New Jersey, bettors can now wager on their favorite matches and access all other features on Fanatics Sportsbook, including bonuses, payment methods, and customer support.

Since New Jersey legalizes online casino gambling, Fanatics users in the state will also be able to enjoy a variety of classic and popular casino games on the platform, like slots, blackjack, and roulette. Fanatics is now live in four jurisdictions with its casino offerings, including Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

Outside of online sports betting, Fanatics has an extensive retail sportsbook presence across 19 locations, including Progressive Field and Nationwide Arena. It is also the only sportsbook within an NFL stadium at Commanders Field.

New Jersey Considers College Prop Ban

Last month, a bill was introduced in the New Jersey Senate that could impact sportsbook offerings in the state. Bill S3089, proposed by Sen. Kristin Corrado, R-Passaic, seeks to prohibit operators from accepting player-specific proposition wagers on college sports.

While New Jersey currently supports college prop betting, the new legislation, if passed, would restrict sportsbooks from offering such wagers.

States like Maryland, Vermont, and Ohio already banned college prop bets in their jurisdictions.
