Flutter's UK and Ireland Division Surpasses £8m in Charitable Contributions
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Flutter's UK and Ireland division has raised an impressive £8 million for charity this year through initiatives run by three of its best-known brands: Paddy Power, Sky Betting & Gaming, and Betfair have been at the forefront of Flutter’s fundraising activities, each launching unique campaigns to support various charitable causes.
Earlier this week, Paddy Power announced its intention to donate up to £1m to Prostate Cancer UK. This pledge is part of the brand's lead sponsorship of the 2023 PDC World Darts Championship, with a promise to donate £1,000 for every 180 score achieved during the tournament.
Betfair embarked on a campaign last month named the ‘Serial Winners Fund’. In collaboration with jockey Rachel Blackmore, this initiative aims to assist the Injured Jockeys Fund and the Irish Injured Jockeys. The campaign kick-started with an initial £100,000 donation, and an additional £5,000 will be added for every race won by Blackmore between Betfair Chase Day and the Randox Grand National. The funds raised will be evenly distributed between the two charities.
Sky Bet launched the ‘Building Foundations Fund’ in November. This £6m initiative, in partnership with the EFL, offers the 72 clubs in the EFL an opportunity to apply for grants up to £100,000. These grants are intended for investment in various programs and initiatives. Sky Bet has committed to investing £1m annually into this fund, starting from the current season.

Furthermore, Flutter has organized several events to support its charitable goals. Notably, the company held its inaugural Charity Ball in Dublin in September, benefiting Bumbleance. In November, its Annual Charity Gala in Leeds supported the Children's Heart Surgery Fund in Yorkshire. Additionally, Flutter has made various donations throughout the year, including the relaunch of the Cash4Clubs program.
