Gemma Burge Joins DAZN Bet as Head of Safer Gambling
Global live sports streaming service DAZN has made another appointment for its new sports betting brand DAZN Bet. The firm has announced Gemma Burge as Head of Safer Gambling for DAZN Bet.
Prior to her latest appointment, Burge has spent several years working in the iGaming industry. She joined DAZN Bet from William Hill, where she served in the safer gambling department for three years. Before joining William Hill, she worked for about three years in the Risk Assurance department of Sky Bet.
Though the exact date has not been clearly stated, DAZN plans to launch its new sports betting brand sometime before the beginning of the 2022/23 football season, which is scheduled to start on the final weekend of July for the English Football League and the first weekend of August for the Premier League.
DAZN has made a couple of appointments in preparation for the launch, including Mark Kemp, former CEO of BoyleSports and Managing Director of Tote, who was selected as DAZN Bet's new CEO. Sandeep Tiku and Ian Turnbull, former Entain and Amazon personnel were installed as Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Betting, respectively.
I'm absolutely delighted to share that I'm starting a new position as Head of Safer Gambling at DAZN Bet. I'm really excited to be working for this incredible brand as it starts its new venture, building a gambling experience that will promote safe play and customer well-being. Time to pack those bags and relocate to the Rock!
Last month DAZN partnered with Pragmatic Group on a multi-year agreement that will see the latter power its new sports betting platform.
