Great Revenues for Connecticut after Legalizing Online Gambling & Betting
The state of Connecticut has announced a revenue of $1.7 million from the total bets and wagers that were placed at online gambling platforms within its newly regulated market in its first month of launch.
In a press release by Governor Ned Lamont, the first revenue collection for the state reinforces the process and approach of his administration when it comes to ensuring sports betting and online casino platforms work seamlessly for consumers.
He also noted that between the soft launch on October 12 through October 31, the state recorded $513,000 from sports betting and $1.2 million from online casino gaming.
The online gambling operators in the state are expected to remit $13.75% of gross gaming revenue from sports betting and 18% from online gaming through 2026 to the state. These funds, like the October revenue, will go into the state's general fund.
