Before his new appointment, Fernandez served as the CEO of Aristocrat. During his two-year tenure, he reportedly drove Aristocrat's growth and profitability, setting the stage for his new venture. Following his resignation from the company, he was succeeded by Craig Toner.

Building on his Aristocrat's success, Fernandez will navigate IGT and Everi's transition while ensuring cultural continuity and operational efficiency. However, due to the non-compete period agreed upon in his previous role, he will officially start his tenure by the final quarter of 2025.

Until Fernandez's arrival, Nick Khin, the President of IGT, will assume interim CEO duties at the merged company.

I couldn't be more excited to be part of this journey with IGT Gaming and Everi. I look forward to partnering with the very talented teams at both companies, as well as the Apollo team leading the transaction.

Global Vision for IGT and Everi Takes Shape

In March, IGT revealed that it will spin off its Global Gaming and PlayDigital businesses and merge them with Everi. After the completion of the merger, Everi will undergo a name change to International Game Technology Inc.

The two companies were acquired by Apollo Global in July for $6.3 billion. Since then, Fernandez's appointment represents the first significant update in the combined IGT-Everi operations.
