Kindred Group Prepares to Enter Dutch Market
The Netherlands Gambling Authority has granted Kindred Group a gambling license. The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has given the group permission to provide commercial online gambling and betting under the Dutch Remote Gambling Act.
It means that Kindred Group is able to enter the Dutch market immediately and the company welcomed the news explaining in a statement that it is an “important part of Kindred’s strategy to operate in locally licensed markets.”
In the next few days, the group’s Unibet brand will go live at Unibet.nl and the company is set to host a Capital Markets Day on 14 September 2022. The idea of the day is to set out Kindred’s long-term strategic direction within the market.
The Netherlands is a large and important European market and one that we look forward to operating in with a local license. We have been advocating local license schemes for the past decade, and are thrilled that our newly awarded license in the Netherlands will allow us to deepen and develop our involvement in the Dutch society, as well as actively contribute to a fair and sustainable gambling market. As part of our long-term ambitions and strategy, we are eager to provide a safe, secure and entertaining gambling experience for Dutch customers.
Anne-Jaap Snijders, the company’s CCO, said that they are committed to “establishing Kindred’s role as a responsible, trustworthy and valuable” operator within the market through the Unibet brand.
Regarding the company’s commitment to safer gambling, Snijders explained, “Our corporate purpose to ‘transform gambling by being a trusted source of entertainment that contributes positively to society’ sits at the heart of our ‘Unibet Impact’ programme which is solely dedicated to fostering a safer and more responsible online gambling industry.”
