KSA Fines Winbet for Offering Illegal Gaming in the Netherlands
Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa), the Dutch Gaming Authority, has announced it has imposed a penalty fine on gaming operator Winbet for offering games of chance in the Netherlands without a license.

LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:The fine relates to four gambling websites operated by Winbet, including galaxyspins.com, and winnercasino1.bet, superb1.bet, and doctorspins.com.
During an audit of the Winbet gaming brands the regulator found individuals in the Netherlands were able to undertake gambling activities in the country. This meant it was possible for players in the Netherlands to create an account, make deposits and place wagers on the listed websites.
Under the details of the penalty KSA outlined that Winbet have been issued with an order to cease offering unlicensed gaming and a fine of €280,000 per week, this is up to a maximum of €840,000.
The Gaming Authority (KSA) imposes a penalty payment order on Winbet NV for offering unlicensed games of chance. Offering games of chance without the required license is prohibited in the Netherlands.

KSA Highlights Research to Identify Unlicensed Operators
The Dutch Gaming Authority has pointed out it is constantly investigating the gambling sector in the country and this has led to the regulator being able to identify and issue fines to gaming operators in the jurisdiction.
As well as Winbet, recent investigations saw the KSA take similar action last week and issue a fine to gaming operator BlockDance B.V. The structure of the penalty fine was the same as Winbet and sees the fine on BlockDance B.V. gradually increased to a maximum of €840,000 until the operator ceases its gambling activities in the Netherlands.
Further investigations by the KSA saw the regulator order the removal of gambling promotions from YouTube following influencers recommending gambling websites that are not licensed in the region.
