KSA Hits Dutch Operator betonline.ag with a Financial Penalty
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch Gambling Authority, has announced it has issued a penalty payment to Blue High House S.A., the online gaming operator, for offering games of chance when the company does not have a license to do this.
betonline.ag is the website brand of Blue High House and was named by the gambling regulation authority as the operator that has breached the guidelines.
The Dutch Gambling Authority outlined that it has been investigating gaming operators that it identifies as having a certain level of Dutch players, and Blue High House has a high amount of traffic from the region to the betonline.ag website.
KSA Punishment Issued to Blue High House
In details of the statement, the Dutch regulator expanded on its punishment of Blue High House. The KSA has issued the operator with a Cease and Desist letter outlining that the operator must stop offering games of chance to customers in the Netherlands without the appropriate gaming license.
The level of the fine is €43,000 for each week that Blue House High continues to breach these gaming rules and the fine is capped at a maximum level of €129,000.
The gaming operator was given two weeks from September 29th by the KSA to comply with the cease and desist order or face the penalties outlined in the statement.
KSA Issues Fines to LCS Limited Last Week
This move comes just days after KSA issued another fine against a gaming operator for breaches of its gaming rules.
LCS Limited is alleged to have broken the regulator's guidelines by engaging in unauthorized online gambling operations and has been handed a fine of more than €2 million by KSA. It is believed that LCS Limited is set to appeal the fine from the KSA.
