KSA Warns Betca over Ad in Mobile Game
The Netherlands' gaming regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) has cautioned iGaming provider Betca over an ad that appeared in a mobile game that could be seen by minors.

Under Dutch law, gambling promotions are barred from non-gambling online platforms to prevent accidental exposure to susceptible demographics, such as minors and those who have self-excluded from gambling.
Betca attributed the ad's appearance in the game to human error and pledged to implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The KSA didn't impose any financial penalty but ordered the operator to remove the ads, which it did immediately.
However, the regulator stated that it will continue to monitor the space for any future infractions.

Tougher Stance on Illegal Gambling Apps
The action comes amid a heightened crackdown on unlicensed online gambling ads by the KSA.
There is a growing trend of black market operators using digital channels, especially mobile apps, to gain unauthorized access to the Dutch market.
These illegal platforms often reportedly impersonate legitimate gambling operators by using their logos, with the aim of deceiving players into believing they are interacting with a trusted brand.
They are also readily available to minors since app stores don't require ID verification for free downloads.
In a recent announcement, the KSA revealed its ongoing efforts to combat illegal gambling apps surfacing on major app stores, like Google Play and Apple's App Store.
So far this year, the regulator has worked with Google and Apple to shut down 20 unlicensed gambling apps, with further enforcement actions likely in the pipeline.
