Light & Wonder Employee Files Lawsuit Alleging Misconduct
A former Light & Wonder (L&W) employee has filed a lawsuit alleging retaliation after refusing to alter financial records at the request of an executive.
Former employee alleges retaliation at Light & Wonder.
Antonio Amormino, previously the head of casino studio North America at L&W, claims his dismissal in August was tied to his refusal to falsify financial documents. Amormino has now taken legal action in Michigan’s Oakland County Circuit Court and is asserting that his employer violated the state’s whistleblower protection laws.
Pressure to Alter Financial Reports
According to the lawsuit, Amormino alleges that Dror Damchinsky, the vice president of operations of Light & Wonder, asked him to alter figures in a financial report related to the company’s budget. When Amormino refused, he raised his concerns with Millisa Sly, the office manager, and Vickie Huber, the head of accounting.
The lawsuit also claims Damchinsky approached Amormino a second time to request changes to financial documents. Amormino says that he refused and warned that doing so would violate financial regulations, including the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
Amormino subsequently filed a complaint with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Shortly after this, he was dismissed, which he claimed was retaliation for his whistleblower complaint.
In the legal filing, Amormino accuses Damchinsky of instructing him to “generate different numbers for the company’s capital asset reports” to misrepresent the company’s financial standing.

Despite the controversy, L&W recently reported strong third-quarter financial results, with $817 million in revenue, a 12% year-over-year increase. This comes after a separate legal defeat in the Dragon Train dispute with Aristocrat Technologies Inc.
