Lightning Box Launch Debut Table Games – Keno
Lightning Box, one of Light & Wonder’s in-house studios, has announced the launch of its first ever non-slot game, Keno.
Players are required to pick between three and ten numbers from a grid of 80 in the studio’s first table game. The round then begins and twenty numbers are drawn at random. Players will win a prize for matching at least two numbers.
When a number is drawn, it may have a lightning bolt symbol attached to it. If six of these numbers are drawn then the lightning respin round begins. This is almost like a mini-slot machine and players receive three respins during which reels are randomly activated and highlighted by lightning bolts. If a cash prize lands on a reel, then the prize is awarded and the respin counter is reset to three.
Furthermore, during the respins, 2x2 and 3x3 colossal symbols can land. They award instant cash prizes as well as the chance of the Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpot prizes.
At present, the keno game is available exclusively via Rank Interactive and in two weeks’ time it will go live on Light & Wonder’s OPENGAMING platform.
Keno is our first table game, and we are thrilled to couple the unique gameplay offered by this title with our player favourite mechanic lightning respin. Providing players with the bonus round found within popular titles like LIGHTNING GORILLA™ and LIGHTNING BLAZE™ in conjunction with the table gameplay of keno has produced a title with universal appeal that we are excited to see players reception.
Rob Procter, the VP Game Development at Light & Wonder, said that the new game is a demonstration of Lightning Box’s ability “to produce engaging and entertaining titles”. He added, “They have blended a traditional table game with the much-adored lightning respin mechanic that we are confident players will enjoy.”
