Mega Millions Jackpot Climbs to $300 Million in Next Draw
The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has climbed to $300 million after its last drawing on Friday.
The lottery joins the list of lotteries with high payouts and late winners after no one matched its Friday winning numbers of 7, 29, 43, 56, 57, and 6. Having seen over 23 consecutive draws, the lottery jackpot will continue to increase until a lucky ticket holder claims it.
Although the jackpot is yet to be won, the Friday drawing awarded several prizes to lucky winners. A Missouri player won $1 million in the Match 5 level while another ticket holder became $3 million richer(before taxes) after hitting the Megaplier. There were also other winners with prizes ranging from $30,000 to $2.
The next drawing will take place on Jan. 11 at 11 p.m. ET, with the estimated jackpot being $300 million and the cash option being $206.7 million at the time of writing this article.
The Mega Millions drawings usually occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. ET. Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70; one gold Mega Ball is drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25.
You win if the numbers on one row of your ticket match the numbers of the balls drawn on that date. There are nine ways to win a prize, from $2 to the jackpot. If no one wins the jackpot, the money is added to the next drawing. Overall, the chances of winning a prize are 1 in 24.
