MLB Acquires Stake in Sportradar to Enhance Their Partnership

Major League Baseball (MLB), the top-flight competition in North America, has announced it has agreed to expand its current partnership with Sportradar. This new deal commences when the MLB season starts this year and has been extended until 2032.

As part of the new agreement, the MLB has acquired an equity stake in Sportradar. The details are that MLB will purchase 1.8 million shares in Sportradar. In addition, Sportradar is required to pay a license fee to the MLB for the length of the agreement.

With the new enhanced relationship, the MLB will let Sportradar use its sports data and visual content. The MLB has a plan to grow the game of baseball globally and believes the distribution agreement with Sportradar will help to achieve this.
