Sponsored by Radu Marian and Dorian Istratii, the bill seeks to revise Moldova's gambling advertising laws, granting operators more flexibility in promoting their services. The lawmakers cited more relaxed regulations on gambling ads in most European countries as justification for this move.

As per the revised regulations, low-social risk gambling advertising and audiovisual content will be allowed from 10 pm to 7 am. Also, low-social risk gambling advertising in private or public periodicals is limited to 15% of the total publication space.

Advertising for gaming services must include a mandatory message about the harmful effects of gambling, comprising at least 20% of the advertisement's duration or surface area.

Furthermore, licensed establishments selling lottery games are permitted to display advertisements but must be limited to A4-sized formats.

Advertising funds for lottery and sports betting will be redirected towards sponsoring sports and social initiatives and helping develop the local media.

In November, the Northern Ireland All-Party Group (APG) called for increased gambling advertising regulations, citing a notable surge in promotional activities within the region.

Likewise, in Serbia, the Green Left Front (ZLF) asked the government to implement a blanket ban on gambling advertisements to protect the well-being of citizens.
