Neymar Abandons PSG Title Celebrations for Poker Game
Brazillian football star Neymar may have embroiled himself in another controversy after he was spotted partying and playing poker at the Monaco Grand Prix while his Paris Saint-German teammates were celebrating their latest title win.
Neymar is a popular face in the poker world. The footballer is relax by playing online poker and live-streaming himself in the process.
On Saturday evening, while his club was playing its title-deciding match against RC Strasbourg, Neymar was seen playing a game of poker at a glitzy casino.
The game ended 1-1 courtesy of Lionel Messi’s opening goal and Kevin Gameiro, who leveled the scores in the 79th minute. However, a point is all the Paris side needed to be the champions of League 1. After the final whistle, Messi, Mbappe, Donnaruumma, and other players could be seen celebrating the title win. Likewise, Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, and Presnel Kimpembe were in attendance, despite not participating in the match due to injury.
However, Neymar, who has had little showing for the club due to an ankle injury since February, was not on the pitch jubilating. Instead, the Brazillian was having a fun of his own in Monaco ahead of the Sunday F1 race.
Neymar’s absence on Saturday’s final match has further speculated rumors that he will leave PSG this summer. Besides his injury, Neymar seems to have fallen out of favor with PSG fans, who have subjected him to boos and jeers, especially after their dramatic Champions League loss to Real Madrid.
In his response to being booed by PSG fans, Neymar said it’s sad, but he looks to finding “strength somewhere.”

In his post-match conference, PSG boss Christophe Galtier was asked about Neymar’s absence, and he supported the 31-year-old winger stating that “he has problems getting around.” He added that Neymar was present in the locker room on Friday for the last training session.
