NOGA and VNLOK Tackle Illegal Gaming with New Hotline
The Dutch Online Gambling Association (NOGA) and the Union of Licensed Dutch Online Gaming Providers (VNLOK) have launched a new initiative to combat illegal online gambling.
Residents can report illegal online gambling activities using the hotline.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:The two associations jointly unveiled ‘Meld Vals Spel’, a hotline where individuals can report suspected cases of illegal online gambling activity in the Netherlands. The platform will be open to licensed gambling operators, partners, and industry experts to report suspicious activities related to unlicensed gambling sites and apps.
Offences that can be reported include unsafe gambling practices, failure to implement player protection measures, offering bonuses that exceed legal limits, and targeting underage individuals.
The Meld Vals Spel website will function as the central reporting hub for gathering information on illegal gambling operators. VNLOK and NOGA will then use this data to crack down on illegal operators and educate the public about the risks of patronizing their platforms.
Licensed providers of online gambling have the joint responsibility to offer players a legal, safe and responsible offer. This often goes well, but can also be better. This is being worked hard every day. At the same time, many Dutch people still come into contact with illegal gambling sites and apps.

If a reported case warrants additional action, the organizations can submit reports to the Dutch gambling regulator, KSA (KSA), and seek government intervention.
These illegal parties actively respond to the increasingly strict Dutch rules by, for example, advertising on search terms such as ‘playing without limit’ or ‘playing without CRUKS’. In doing so, they attract targeted (vulnerable) players. These kinds of illegal practices endanger the safety of players and must be tackled hard.
The new effort aims to support the KSA’s work in reducing illegal online gaming activities and protecting consumers.
KSA Partners with Gamban
In related news, KSA has partnered with Gamban to provide Dutch residents a free one-year subscription to the online gaming blocking platform.
Individuals can take advantage of the free subscription by contacting the country’s national support service, Loket Kansspel, through various channels, including website, WhatsApp, email, and phone.
