NY Casinos and Sportsbooks See Big Growth in November
The New York State Gaming Commission has published its November gaming report, indicating a notable increase in sports betting and casino revenue.
New York achieved its highest sports betting GGR in November at $231.6 million.
In the sports betting sector, operators reported a handle of $2.27 billion during the month, an increase of 7.8% year-on-year. This wagering handle marks the second-highest total for the 2024/25 fiscal year, narrowly trailing October’s record-breaking $2.32 billion.
With November’s handle included, the cumulative sports wagering total for the fiscal year has now reached $14.8 billion.
In terms of gross gaming revenue (GGR), New York achieved its highest figure for the year 2024/25 in November at $231.6 million. The GGR rose by $281.7 million compared to the $176.3 million generated in October. It also surpasses the previous peak of $204.7 million, set in September 2024.
FanDuel Retains Market Lead
Regarding operators’ performances, FanDuel continued to dominate the NY sports wagering landscape in November, with a handle of $921.2 million and $102.6 million in GGR.
DraftKings secured the second spot with $745.4 million in wagers and a GGR of $77.1 million. Fanatics finished in third place with a handle of $170.2 million and a GGR of $13.8 million, highlighting a significant gap in market share between FanDuel and DraftKings and other sportsbooks in the industry.
Net revenue for the month amounted to $113.5 million, the highest recorded total for the fiscal year. The figure surged by 42.2% year-over-year and increased by $27.1 million from October’s $86.4 million.

Strong Perfomance in Casino Sector
The casino market also experienced a significant boost in November, with GGR reaching $56.9 million. The total represents a 5.04% year-over-year gain and an increase of 5.8% month-over-month. Following November's latest figures, New York's total GGR year-to-date now stands at $457.2 million.
Rivers Casino and Resort led New York State's land-based gaming sector in November, generating $17.8 million in GGR revenue. It is followed closely by Resorts World Catskills with $16.5 million.
Operators paid $13.7 million in gaming tax in November, a rise of 6.7% year-over-year. Compared to the preceding month, the tax revenues also experienced an increase of 2.2%. The year-to-date gaming tax revenue now stands at $346.5 million.
Top-Earning Casino Games
Slots were the most popular casino game amongst players in November, accounting for $40.3 million of total GGR. The Slots GGR increased by 8.6% year-over-year and by 0.5% compared to October’s $40.2 million.
Table games were the second-biggest earner, with $14.98 in revenue, an increase of 17.3% month-over-month. However, the total dropped by 5.3% year-over-year.
