Ontario's iGaming Market to Go Live on April 4
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario's division, iGaming Ontario, has revealed plans to launch online gaming in the region by April 4.
The subsidiary of AGCO will be in charge of the online gaming operations in the region and is vested with the power of licensing operators for the Ontario iGaming Market.
Consumers can be assured that companies who successfully enter the new Ontario market will have met rigorous standards of game and operator integrity, fairness, player protections, and social responsibility, allowing all players to play with confidence. Prevention of underage access, ensuring compliance with applicable laws including anti-money laundering rules and regulations, and measures to enable more responsible gambling are just a few of the assurances consumers can expect in the new market as of April 4.
Penn National Gaming, and its subsidiary, theScore, have reportedly become the first private iGaming operator accredited by the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC).
By securing the RG Check accreditation, it has checked one of the essential requirements of getting licensed by iGaming Ontario. Last year December, theScore also received GLI-33 certification for its mobile sports betting and iGaming app it plans to launch in Ontario, Canada.
Today's news is very exciting, and I would like to recognize and congratulate the government of Ontario and the AGCO and iGaming Ontario for their dedication to creating a modern open and regulated sports betting and iGaming market.
