PlayOJO’s Safe Bets Campaign Recognized at UK Social Media Awards
PlayOJO, the popular UK online casino, has beaten entities such as Sky, Netflix UK, and Now TV to an award at this year’s UK Social Media awards.
PlayOJO won the award for “Best Use of Social Media for Entertainment” for its “Safe Bets” campaign that featured Olivia Bowen from Love Island. The campaign was a play on old-fashioned safer sex videos that were made in the 1970s and 80s. It shows Bowen providing various safer gambling tips but laden with innuendos designed to keep viewers engaged.
Bowen explains how players can use deposit limits, virtual assists, and take a break functionality to help them ensure their gambling remains safe. Players are also invited to put their knowledge to the test in a quiz with branded PlayOJO condoms available as prizes.
It is an absolute privilege to once again be recognised by the UK Social Media awards. Having picked up two awards at last year’s event, we are proud to have been able to continue our great work in engaging our audience via social media. In a continuing theme, this year’s campaign was also focused on responsible and safer gaming, something we, as one of the UK’s top online casino and bingo operators, are striving to lead the pack on. Player safety is at the forefront of everything we do as a business and is an important part of our advertising and social media strategy. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank not just the amazing team and agency Cubaka, but also the judges for recognising what we set out to achieve with our Safe Bets campaign.
PlayOJO has won a number of similar awards in the past including Best Use of Instagram and Best Use of Social Media at last year’s Social Media Awards, and it was recognized in the SoundOut Index in 2011 for having one of the most identifiable sonic logos in the UK.
