Rio Las Vegas Changes Rewards Program after Dreamscape Buyout
After Caesars Entertainment relinquished control, the Rio Hotel & Casino wasted no time in implementing a fresh loyalty program. Commencing on Monday, Rio unveiled its exciting rewards initiative, thereby rendering Caesars rewards cards ineffective within the Las Vegas property.
Out with the Old
In July, the Nevada Gaming Commission gave the green light to the acquisition of New York-based Dreamscape and its leadership, headed by founder and CEO Eric Birnbaum. Dreamscape had previously bought the 2,522-room Rio from Caesars for $516.3 million in December 2019. The building was then leased back to Caesars, who operated it under a lease that was set to end earlier this month but instead expired in December.
Rio Rewards provides a selection of four tiers, namely Rouge, Azul, Gold and Platinum, each presenting a distinctive set of advantages. These perks encompass complimentary hotel accommodations and show tickets, the convenience of early check-in or late check-out, a monthly dining allowance, a daily assortment of exquisite wines, and an array of additional benefits.
Rio Chief Gaming Officer Kevin Sweet called the launch of the new rewards program an "important milestone" for the property. He explained that Dreamscape built the program after researching other rewards programs in the gaming industry, and came up with Rio Rewards to "stand alone" in terms of rewards and promos for Rio guests.
Members of Caesars Rewards who have previously visited Rio after late 2017 are eligible to receive a new Rio Rewards loyalty card. They have the option to collect their new cards from either a Rio Rewards office or a loyalty kiosk situated within a section of the casino.
In with the New
Dreamscape envisions a spectacular transformation for the resort, investing $350 million toward a comprehensive revitalization of the facility. With this ambitious plan, it is set to introduce an array of 10 exciting new attractions and a diverse range of entertainment options.
While focusing on the metamorphosis of the resort, Dreamscape has taken upon themselves a noble mission to safeguard the property's architectural marvel and respect its rich legacy. As this renovation progresses, everything in the resort will remain operational throughout the process.
The inaugural phase of this rejuvenation project includes a significant upgrade to 1,500 rooms, the establishment of seven dining venues, multiple conference rooms tailored for professional gatherings, and a rejuvenated pool area.
