Russell Ferris Set to Join Racecourse Media Group as MD
Racecourse Media Group (RMG), the media representative body for many UK racecourses, has announced that it is set to appoint Russell Ferris as its new Managing Director.
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Ferris is currently working for Weatherbys Ltd as its CEO and is due to start his new role on August 18 this year. He joined Weatherbys in Ireland in 2016 and was promoted to head the whole of Weatherbys Group by 2019.
Ferris brings more than two decades of racing industry experience and previously served in leadership roles at Limerick Racecourse and At The Races, giving him a comprehensive knowledge of the media aspects of the sector.
There are more than 35 racecourses represented by RMG and they provide coverage for some of the most prestigious race meetings in the UK racing calendar, including coverage of the Grand National this weekend at Aintree, often referred to as the most famous horse race in the world.
Russell is highly regarded within the industry and will bring a wealth of expertise, experience, and enthusiasm to RMG. Russell will oversee and further align the Commercial and Broadcast departments and help take the business to new levels in terms of innovation, engagement and revenues. I very much look forward to welcoming Russell to RMG in August.
