The AGA Campaign for a One Stop Gambling Helpline
America’s largest Gambling trade body, the American Gambling Association (AGA), have announced that they require regulatory frameworks to do more in order to alert gamblers to the resources which are available to them if they are experiencing problems with their gambling activities.
According to the AGA, problem gamblers should feel comfortable about seeking help, and one way in which this can be achieved is by having disclaimers on gambling products that will aid people to quickly find resources that can help them get on top of their gambling-related problems.
The AGA have encouraged all gaming operators, including those who operate in the affiliate marketplace, to get their heads together and work to recognized advertising guidelines.
Unfortunately, lengthy lists of state-specific helplines on national advertisements create barriers for those seeking help when we should be making these critical resources easily accessible.
One Stop Gambling Helpline
Feil explained that a one-stop national gambling helpline would help to solve many of the problems that gamblers are facing since state-based helplines can often cause confusion amongst those who are seeking help.
Feil went on to say, “As gaming expands across the country, it’s imperative that our industry continues protecting all customers. We believe there shouldn’t be obstacles to help for those who need it, and modernization of the helpline system for national advertising is a good place to start.”
