Walsh Maintains Undefeated Streak with Win Over Velasco
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Irish super welterweight 'King' Callum Walsh remains unbeaten (8-0, 7 KOs) after successfully defending his Silver super welterweight belt against Juan Jose Velasco (24-5, 15 Kos) at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles Saturday night.
The fight, which headlined the 360 Promotions Hollywood Fight Nights series on UFC Fight Pass Saturday night, ended abruptly in four rounds when Valasco decided to stop the match while in his corner.

In the first round, Walsh took on the offensive and displayed balance as he controlled the distance and movement, effectively neutralizing Velasco's advances. In the second round, Walsh engaged in a brief exchange with Velasco and emerged as the victor. The third round saw Walsh unleashing a flurry of punches while Velasco held his position. Sustaining his aggressive strategy, Walsh consistently outperformed Velasco.
The match concluded after four rounds when the Argentinean couldn't continue, prompting the referee to halt the contest. With this victory, Walsh retains his WBC Silver super welterweight title.
Walsh Apologizes to Fans
However, following the match, Walsh apologized to his fans for not delivering a more entertaining performance, given that the match ended in the fourth round.
I want to apologize to all the fans who showed up. I wanted to give you a fight, I wanted to give you more. But that was out of my control. I was just getting going when he quit. I look forward to putting on a better show next time.
The match had in attendance prominent figures from the UFC world, including Jorge Masvidal, Tabitha Ricci, and announcer Bruce Buffer, who, along with many spectators, didn't seem to mind the manner in which the emerging super welterweight Walsh secured victory.

But a dissatisfied Walsh added, "It felt like we were just getting into it, it was turning into a good fight. I was winning easily. I liked the way he tried to bring it to me. If you want me to get in the mix, I'll do it. But he quit. It was getting good, and I would have stopped him in the next round. Every round, Freddie kept saying, 'Last round, last round.' But we got him out of there, Freddie."
Walsh's next match is billed for November 9 on the next 360 Promotions card on UFC Fight Pass, scheduled to occur at a venue on the East Coast.
