World’s Biggest Gambling Operator Joins EGBA
Flutter Entertainment (LON: FLTR), one of the world’s biggest online gambling operators, has announced that it is the latest European operator to join the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA).
Flutter is behind a number of the industry’s best-known brands, such as Paddy Power and Betfair. It said that it has chosen to join EGBA as it is committed to promoting greater industry responsibility across Europe.
We are very pleased that Flutter has joined the EGBA family and welcome its commitment towards our ideals of sustainability and fostering a stronger culture of safer gambling in Europe. We are determined to ensure Europe’s online gambling sector is more united and coordinated in its objectives and responsibilities, and we continue to invite Europe’s other reputable online gambling companies to join us in this mission.
EGBA has long made a case for safe and responsible gambling, particularly since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Recently, it published its first safer gambling report, which found that there has been an increase in the use of responsible gambling tools. Furthermore, EGBA recently announced its support for the introduction of electronic IDs across Europe.
Flutter’s chief legal officer Pádraig Ó Ríordáin said that safe and responsible gambling underpins everything that Flutter Entertainment does, making the decision to join EGBA entirely natural. He added, “We look forward to working with other members to ensure the online gambling sector within Europe is more united on our role and responsibilities.”
