Business Development Director Yariv Lavi Departs 888 after 13 Years
LISTEN TO THIS ARTICLE:Yariv Lavi has announced his decision to step down as the director of business development at 888, concluding a tenure of more than 13 years in the role.
Lavi assumed the position in November 2009 and played a vital role in key developments during his tenure, including the acquisition of William Hill's non-US assets in July of last year. He also provided support to 888 in its expansion efforts across global markets, including the United States.
Prior to joining 888, Lavi served as the marketing director at BVR Systems. He also held positions as the sales director at IAI and the marketing manager at Spacecom.
In a LinkedIn post, Lavi expressed his excitement about the future as he embarks on a new chapter outside of 888 after 13.5 years. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to work with talented individuals and learn from his colleagues and managers. Lavi also expressed pride in the collective achievements accomplished together with the team at 888, highlighting the company's status as one of the premier gaming operators in the world and its collaborations with industry partners.
Lavi looks forward to building upon the foundation he established at 888, eagerly anticipating what lies ahead in his professional journey.
888 Undergoing Gambling Commission Review
Confirmation of Lavi's departure comes alongside news that 888 will undergo a license review by the UK Gambling Commission. This review follows FS Gaming's acquisition of a stake in the company, backed by Kenny Alexander, the former CEO of Entain. The proposed plan, which involved Alexander assuming the role of CEO, was rejected. Initially, a trio of former Entain executives was set to take charge, with Lee Feldman as chairman and Stephen Morana as chief financial officer.
If FS Gaming's stake in 888 exceeds 10%, triggering a change in corporate control, the review becomes necessary to obtain approval from the Gambling Commission. The Commission's only recourse, should it reject the change, would be to revoke the operating license of the business.
